Portfolio update – September 2024

How to achieve financial freedom? Through systematic investing. It’s easy to say, but more difficult to maintain consistency. This journal entry is for my future self, to record the entire – long journey, successes, and mistakes I’ve made, rather than just the final result. I hope it will motivate you to build your financial independence.

Summary

The past month was exceptionally rich in changes in the portfolio. The largest of them concerned new deposits. I managed to unlock a large amount of capital in the middle of the year. I prepared for the decision itself for quite a long time, asking myself the question. “Are the p2p positions the ones I should transfer this capital to?” After over 4 years of my own experience, I decided to take this step. It is worth to mention this is the largest monthly deposit in the history of my portfolio. (Over 27k eur).

As I announced in the last post, I am adding a new item to my portfolio, the Income platform. I have been testing the platform for several months, it is high time to bring it to light. About the reasons for the decision you can check in detail below.

In addition, I have one more platform in testing, if everything goes well, it will appear in the summary by the end of the year.

But for now, please check out the update:

Bitfinex Lending*

As per my last post, I have lowered my value of this platform. Unfortunately with the current rates offered on the platform, at less than 8%, it is not competitive. I have lowered my share by 60%.

I take into account that loans on Bitfinex are subject to a very low risk of default by borrowers. For this reason, I plan to leave the rest of the portfolio for longer in order to diversify other positions.

Graph of all loans last month:

  • Value: $4 840,66 (withdrawal: -$6 944,52)
  • Profit (last month): $0,00
  • ROI (last month): 0,00%
  • ROI: 5,62%
  • Investment from: 2020.12

Mintos (Euro €)*

After four years, I make the largest single deposit in the history of the portfolio. I chose Mintos as the main depositor of new capital. This is due to the platform’s extensive experience (introducing new services) and professional approach to handling overdue loans. Despite 4 years of cooperation, I do not have any overdue loans, or even those delayed by 60+ days. I do not count ruble positions here, on which Mintos had no influence (war in Ukraine).

In other news, Mintos has introduced new fees for investments, but let me reassure you right away, they apply to a narrow group of users using the Mintos Core plan. That is, they do not apply to manual investments or custom strategies. The annual fee is 0.39% and applies only to newly issued loans. So for most more experienced users, this change will not matter.

In general, I think the fee makes sense because Mintos manages these portfolios and you as an investor don’t have to do much. It’s not much different than mutual funds or ETFs, where a portfolio fee is standard.

Another news is the reduction of the interest rate for the Mintos Smart Cash service to 3.5%. The change should not come as a surprise, as this index is directly linked to the ECB deposit rates, which were recently lowered.

If you want to start your adventure with Mintos platform, please check out my review: Mintos Review (2024): 14.89% return after 3+ years

Signing up using my invitation link, you will receive €50 for investing €1,000+ and a 1% bonus on the amount invested within the first 90 days.

Mintos (Rubel rosyjski ₽)*

As a reminder, since the war in Ukraine, the position is in the process of being paid out . Currently, the last company to be paid out is Kviku.

Last month, Mintos announced that it is negotiating a new agreement for the resale loans with a third party, as the previous one (from December 2023) did not bring any results. It is good to know that the topic has not been buried and considered lost.

  • Value: 272 675,21 ₽
  • Profit (last month): 0,00 ₽
  • ROI (last month): 0,00%
  • ROI: 0,01%
  • Amount late in repayment: 272 675,21 ₽

Robocash*

Robocash is another platform that I decided to invest in after more than 3 years of investing. I wanted to keep the amount high enough to catch the loyalty bonus. So the goal was to get above 20k, where the bonus is +0.5%. Interestingly, I gain this bonus immediately after exceeding the amount for current and new loans. You don’t have to wait for the end of the month, like in PeerBerry platform.

At the same time, we managed to exceed the psychological barrier of 100 euros in investment income!

If you don’t know how to start your adventure with Robocash. Feel free to check review and detailed description of my strategy: Robocash Review (2024): 12.65% return after 2 years

  • Value: €20 095,11 (deposit: +€8 075,00)
  • Profit (last month): €108,51
  • ROI (last month): 8,11%
  • ROI: 9,30%
  • Amount late in repayment: €234,01 (change: +€232,96)
  • Investment from: 2021.08

Esketit*

The Esketit platform has also been invested in, due to its good rate of return of 11%+.

By registering using my invitation link, you will receive a 1% bonus on the amount invested within the first 30 days.

  • Value: €11 409,53 (deposit: +€5 266,00)
  • Profit (last month): €59,03
  • ROI (last month): 8,07%
  • ROI: 10,48%
  • Amount late in repayment: €2 402,36 (change: +€1 546,65)
  • Investment from: 2023.12

PeerBerry*

PeerBerry still has problems with the lack of supply of new loans. From the information available on the platform, I read that new investment options are first promoted to people with a larger portfolio. Hence, the increase in the value of the portfolio to the level of 10k EUR. Additionally, I got a bonus of +0.5% return on all investments.

In other news, PeerBerry has added a new lender from Poland, Novalend, to its portfolio. Offering corporate loans. Personally, due to portfolio diversification outside of Poland, I do not plan to invest in my home country.

  • Value: €10 013,65 (deposit: +€6 882,00)
  • Profit (last month): €15,60
  • ROI (last month): 6,06%
  • ROI: 6,40%
  • Amount late in repayment: €540,75 (change: -€323,41)
  • Investment from: 2023.12

Income*

A new platform in the portfolio, in tests since July, and in observations for over a year. The platform is distinguished by a much higher interest rate on available loans (at 14%). To be observed, what effect this will have on delayed loans.

There will be time for a review of the platform itself, but it will join the riskier positions in my portfolio.

  • Value: €5 039,69 (deposit: +€3 110,00)
  • Profit (last month): €18,54
  • ROI (last month): 6,38%
  • ROI: 15,06%
  • Amount late in repayment: €828,11 (change: +€435,45)
  • Investment from: 2024.07

ETF

ETF position still on rising trend. No major changes here, no plans to increase this position.

  • Value: $3 607,24
  • Change (last month): +$48,88**
  • Change (from begining): +$1 054,50**
  • Investment from: 2022.08
