Portfolio update – December 2024

How to achieve financial freedom? It’s easy to say. It’s harder to achieve. For the future me is this journal entry. Starting from the year 2021, I describe the long way, point out the successes and the wrong decisions that I have made. I hope it will also motivate you to build your financial independence.

Summary

The festive December brought many surprises that deviated from the traditional focus on family and private topics.

I have increased my long-sitting ETF position, the reasons for which are described below.

In December, the Mintos platform achieved an impressive result, generating a return of 23% y/y , which contributed to a significant increase in the total income of the investment portfolio, which exceeded 1000 EUR. This is a significant jump compared to the previous result, which was “only” 550 EUR.

From a life perspective, this amount becomes a significant step towards financial freedom, but it is worth noting that this increase is the result of a temporary cashback campaign offered by Mintos. Such campaigns are a popular tool to attract investors and can significantly affect the profitability of the portfolio in the short term.

In total, I increased my portfolio by over €6000. The p2p part, I increased by €2700.

I invite you to a detailed analysis.

Bitfinex Lending*

An exceptionally weak month, which is why I changed the lower limit of loans granted from 0.03% to 0.02% per day.

Graph of all loans sold in the last month:

  • Value: $4 895,85
  • Profit (last month): $0,05
  • ROI (last month): 0,01%
  • ROI: 3,66%

Mintos (Euro €)*

In November 2024, I reached an income of €200, which was a great success for me. However, December brought even better results, tripling this result to almost €700, mainly thanks to the cashback bonus from investing in Nera Capital loans, which offered a 5% return. Additionally, to maximize profits, I made a deposit of €1,777 .

On the other hand, I noticed an increasing level of delinquent loans in my portfolio. Therefore, I developed a new investment strategy , which is already the third in my portfolio. I focused on companies guaranteeing loans with material collateral, for example, cars. Although the interest rate on these loans is 11.69% , which is lower than my portfolio average of 12.7%, I am keen to build a stable part of the portfolio on the regulated Mintos platform.

Also in January you can participate in the Nera Capital campaign. It is important to invest only in Nera loans of at least 200 euros and apply for the program in the campaign tab!

Mintos (Rubel rosyjski ₽)*

As a reminder, since the war in Ukraine, the position is in the process of being paid out . Currently, the last company to be paid out is Kviku.

In this regard, Mintos informed that the expected signing of a new agreement for the sale of defaulted loans to a third party is expected in January or February.

Robocash*

Portfolio position very stable, profits at 10%. Keep it up.

Unfortunately, the platform is increasingly experiencing cash outages waiting for new loans. These are not large amounts, but enough to keep the ROI below 10%.

It is also worth mentioning Robocash’s decision to cease operations in Sri Lanka . This decision was made in response to significant and unforeseen changes in the consumer credit market in the country, although the details of these events were not disclosed. The Sri Lankan intermediary partner repaid all commercial loans received ahead of schedule, which is a testament to its financial responsibility and commitment to its obligations.

If you don’t know how to start your adventure with Robocash. Feel free to check review and detailed description of my strategy: Robocash Review (2024): 12.65% return after 2 years

Esketit*

Large cash outages caused my results to fall below 10% again. At the beginning of December, outages were at 20%. Fortunately, in January they are negligible, I hope that this trend will continue longer.

PeerBerry*

There is no trace of last month’s problems with the supply of loans. The beginning of January is a minimal past. At the time of writing this post, all the money is invested . Unfortunately, a large part of it is in loans with an interest rate of 9%, with a redemption period in September, so it will be a while before I see the target return of 10% per year here.

According to information from the platform, PeerBerry boasted on its blog that it has repaid the last outstanding loans in Ukraine. As of February 2022, lenders have returned a total of  €51.4 million to investors , including accrued interest. PeerBerry is the first and so far the only platform to fully repay such a large sum of war liabilities to its investors. Personally, these items have not affected me, but it shows the platform’s ability to fulfill its obligations and protect the interests of investors even in difficult times of crisis.

  • Value: €15 228,96
  • Profit (last month): €111,24
  • ROI (last month): 8,60%

Income*

In December 2024, more delayed loans went into the redemption procedure. Fortunately, despite these problems, I received the entire capital along with accrued interest, which is a positive sign about the stability of the platform.

Last month I verified how the mechanism calculates the return. It turned out that it also covers the additional time resulting from the delay in repaying loans . This means that even in the event of delays, investors can count on compensation in the form of interest.

Thanks to this repayment, I got a very nice return of 15% per year.

  • Value: €5 197,93
  • Profit (last month): €65,59
  • ROI (last month): 15,14%
  • ROI: 13,41%
  • Amount late in repayment: €2 206,09 (change: +€120,21)
  • Investment from: 2024.07

Debitum*

In December, my portfolio was increased by €1,000 , motivated by Debitum’s year-end campaign, which offered  2% cashback  on secured loans. This is a significant step towards increasing my investments and improving the overall profitability of the portfolio.

Pozycja jest The position is under observation, so far I have not noticed any delays or problems on the platform.

  • Value: €3 136,99 (deposit: +€1 000,00)

ETF

After a long period of downtime, I decided to expand my portfolio, but it was not only a need to expand the ETF portfolio, but also a desire to take advantage of the tax deduction option within the retirement plan.

  • Value: $6 941,00 (deposit: +$3 436,94)
  • Change (last month): -$195,74**
