Portfolio update – July 2024
How to achieve financial freedom? Through systematic investing. It’s easy to say, but more difficult to maintain consistency. This journal entry is for my future self, to record the entire – long journey, successes, and mistakes I’ve made, rather than just the final result. I hope it will motivate you to build your financial independence.
Summary
The holiday month has passed, most platforms recorded stable growth. There’s a surprising amount of news from the Mintos platform as the holiday season. At the beginning of August I topped up the Esketit position. And for those who are impatient, I can reveal that I am testing a new platform for the p2p portfolio. This will be one of the more risky position.
I would like to remind you that since the last summary graph, the portfolio history no longer includes Profit from ETFs.
But for now, please check out the update:

Bitfinex Lending*
Another of the last 6 months with such low returns. Despite the limit being lowered to 0.03% per day (around 11% per year) demand is still below the limit. The current return is below saving accounts rating.
For this reason, I have started the process of withdrawing money from this account. However, the process itself will take some time due to the need for payment by the crypto market.
Graph of all loans last month:
Mintos (Euro €)*
Last month, I reported on Mintos’ new products: Real Estate and Smart Cash. One might think that this is a step away from Mintos’ roots of p2p lending. Surprisingly – in July, a new lender, Nera Capital, joined Mintos with loans at 14%.
Additionally, a wave of interest rate increases has hit Mintos, including BB Finance to 14%, ID Finance Spain 14%, Mozipo 12%, and Esto 12%. Quite a lot, which is all the more surprising, since there is a lot on money on the market, and the trend on other platforms is to reduce interest rates.
Personally, I did not take this wave and deposit additional funds to Mintos. In my strategy, this part of the portfolio (in fact the largest one) to be currently closed for extra moves.
On the other hand, I try to choose lenders more carefully in my strategies. Mintos recently announced major problems with one of the loan originators, Planet42, which defaulted almost EUR 15 million. Interestingly, the Mintos Risk Score was calculated at 7.4 🤦♂️ Fortunately, my strategy excluded South Africa from the countries to invest on Mintos.
Let’s get back to the monthly summary, July turned out to be a stable month. The return is around 11%, fortunately, none of the loans are overdue for more than 60+ days. So far, experience shows that short-term overdue loans are returned with an extra % at the end.

Mintos (Rubel rosyjski ₽)*
A complete summary of the Kviku case has appeared on the Mintos blog. For someone who has not been following the actions since 2022, this may be a good summary of Mintos’ recent activities.
As a reminder, since the war in Ukraine, the position is in the process of being paid out. Currently, the last company left to be paid out – Kviku. In December 2023, Mintos announced that it had signed an agreement with a third party to buy out receivables from Kviku, unfortunately since then we are still waiting for further moves.
Robocash*
In the position of Robocash static boredom. The thing that is catches eye is the current monthly interest rate, lower then 10%, but it is still one of the most reliable platforms. For this reason, this position in the portfolio will not be increased or decreased.
If you don’t know how to start your adventure with Robocash. Feel free to check review and detailed description of my strategy: Robocash Review (2024): 12.65% return after 2 years
Esketit*
Esketit like Robocash stable and pleasant, without major perturbations. Due to good results at the beginning of August, I increased this part of the portfolio.
PeerBerry*
The available cash, the lack of available loans that fit my strategy (with a group guarantee) and loans with short maturities (up to 30 days) make it difficult to achieve a good result in this part of the portfolio.
ETF
ETF position still on an upward trend. No major changes here, no plans to increase this position.
