Portfolio update – June 2024

How to achieve financial freedom? Through systematic investing. It’s easy to say, but more difficult to maintain consistency. This journal entry is for my future self, to record the entire – long journey, successes, and mistakes I’ve made, rather than just the final result. I hope it will motivate you to build your financial independence.

Summary

This year, the holidays were perfectly hit between May and June, which is why I skipped once updating my portfolio on the blog. Nevertheless, I will try to share the news, quite a lot has happened before the holiday season.

The skipped month of May recorded with pleasant jump in investment returns (€334) above the standard curve. Which is clearly visible in the chart below.

About this month, Bitfinex is unfortunately going down with returns, both in May and June, Mintos is introducing two new products to the market, Robocash and Esketit stable returns.

Additionally, I decided to exclude ETFs from the total income sum. The update will apply to both the table and the chart. The lack of a guarantee of execution of a position based on the stock exchange strongly affects the chaos of monthly results. The comparison of the approach charts below shows this very well.

One chart includes ETFs, the other does not. The first one is very chaotic and unstable, the second one shows stable income throughout the analyzed period. From next month, I will only show the chart on the left.

But for now, please check out the update:

Bitfinex Lending*

One of the worst months. The highest monthly return over the last year is about $160. Compared to $10 from June, it is an extremely poor result. For this reason, I decided in July to reduce the minimum interest rate limit to 0.03% (from 0.05%). At the end of the day, I’d rather have my money working than lying unused waiting for a better opportunity.

Graph of all loans last month:

  • Value: $11 768,17
  • Profit (last month): $10,83
  • ROI (last month): 1,10%
  • ROI: 8,13%
  • Investment from: 2020.12

Mintos (Euro €)*

As announced by Mintos during its crowdfunding round, Mintos is launching new products.

Mintos Real Estate gives you the opportunity to co-invest in real estate (50% of the value). Investment in real estate, as expected, does not generate high returns (approx. 5%), but it can be a good addition to the portfolio. More information on the Mintos website

Mintos Smart Cash is the second new product from the Mintos stable. It works in a similar model to a savings account, the invested money earns interest based on the interest rate of the European Central Bank (ECB, currently 3.7% per annum) less fees. I see two uses for this product:

  1. Parking money on the platform temporarily so that it continues to “work”.
  2. To store your money in another currency in a safe form of investment. It is worth diversifying your currency portfolio in such a way that it is quickly available and still brings profits.

Coming back to the month summary, no major changes. The return in May jumped to €144, so that in June it returned to the standard €120-130. A small decrease in outstanding loans, but I’m not used to such values 😉

If you want to start your adventure with Mintos platform, please check out my review: Mintos Review (2024): 14.89% return after 3+ years

  • Value: €14 214,35
  • Profit (last month): €122,80
  • ROI (last month): 10,37%
  • ROI: 11,91%
  • Amount late in repayment: €2 816,66 (change: -€357,57)
  • Investment from: 2020.12

Mintos (Rubel rosyjski ₽)*

As a reminder, the position has been pending since the war in Ukraine. Currently, there is the last company left to repay – Kviku. In December 2023 Mintos announced that it had signed an agreement with a third party to buy receivables from Kvik, but unfortunately there have been no further moves since then.

  • Value: 272 675,21 ₽
  • Profit (last month): 0,00 ₽
  • ROI (last month): 0,00%
  • ROI: 0,25%
  • Amount late in repayment: 272 675,21 ₽

Robocash*

Pleasant boredom in the Robocash position. Sometimes there are delays in payments, but these are still small parts of the wallet. Unfortunately, ROI has exceeded the psychological limit of 10%, but it is still one of the most reliable platforms.

If you don’t know how to start your adventure with Robocash. Feel free to check review and detailed description of my strategy: Robocash Review (2024): 12.65% return after 2 years

  • Value: €11 715,12
  • Profit (last month): €96,77
  • ROI (last month): 9,91%
  • ROI: 9,72%
  • Amount late in repayment: €151,01 (change: -€644,24)
  • Investment from: 2021.08

Esketit*

Esketit like Robocash is stable and pleasant, without any major problems. Due to the good financial results of the Esketit group, I am considering increasing this part of the portfolio next month .

  • Value: €4 477,04
  • Profit (last month): €44,39
  • ROI (last month): 11,90%
  • ROI: 10,79%
  • Amount late in repayment: €1 006,89 (change: -€754,53)
  • Investment from: 2023.12

PeerBerry*

Peerberry announced in June that it was lowering lending rates due to the large money supply. The lowest offers are 9%, the highest are 10.5%. On the one hand, it is a pity that the returns are lower, on the other hand, it shows that the company is adapting to market realities and is not afraid to take drastic measures in the era of cheap money.

Lowering the interest rate resulted in outstanding money, so I had to change my automatic strategy. It will be difficult to find deals above 9% in the near future.

The result itself currently fluctuates below 9%, due to not using all the funds for new investments.

  • Value: €3 078,18
  • Profit (last month): €21,71
  • ROI (last month): 8,58%
  • ROI: 6,20%
  • Amount late in repayment: €277,50 (change: -€784,08)
  • Investment from: 2023.12

ETF

The ETF rally has finally stopped. There have been increases month by month for the last 6 months. The change is not big, so it is not particularly worrying. On the other hand, in the event of a large decline, it would be worth investing in the position. For observation.

  • Value: $3 416,40
  • Change (last month): +$64,48**
  • Change (from begining): +$863,66**
  • Investment from: 2022.08
