Portfolio update – Janurary 2023

How to achieve financial freedom? Through systematic investing. It’s easy to say, but more difficult to maintain consistency. This journal entry is for my future self, to record the entire – long journey, successes, and mistakes I’ve made, rather than just the final result. I hope it will motivate you to build your financial independence.

Summary

The beginning of this year marks the long-awaited movement of the ruble position. With stable growth in the ETF part.

January is also another month without deposits to the investment portfolio. I follow the principle that in risky times, it is worth having cash ready to invest. Always ready for good sales.

Portfolio summary

Bitfinex Lending€9 835€0
Mintos (EUR)€7 753€52
Mintos (RUB)€6 124€271
Robocash€7 281€76

Bitfinex Lending*

I continue the strategy of catching demand peaks. This month’s offers still haven’t reached 0.1%. I plan to maintain the strategy at least until May.

Below is a chart of completed offers from the last month:

  • Value: $10 827,72
  • Profit (last month): $0,00
  • ROI (last month): 0,00%
  • ROI: 8,97%
  • Investment from: 2020.12

Mintos (Euro €)*

No major changes to the euro part of Mintos. A large part of the portfolio is still in the status of Pending payments.

Important change, the money from the automatic conversion of the ruble part jump in. After the process of recovering and converting the ruble part, the portfolio in euros should have about €15000. Quite an impressive sum.

  • Value: €7 753,42 (deposit: +€1 113,18)
  • Profit (last month): €51,70
  • ROI (last month): 9,17%
  • ROI: 10,99%
  • Amount late in repayment: €2 718,84 (change: +€40,41)
  • Investment from: 2020.12

Mintos (Rubel rosyjski ₽)*

The position of the wallet during the withdrawal process. After a year of waiting, the first transfers arrive. This time, the ruble part of the loans offered on the market in Kazakhstan is being repaid.

In addition to repaying the loans, Mintos automatically converted RUB to EUR. As I might expect, the real value of the ruble in such a conversion will not be the same as calculated on the Internet rates. The differences between the value of a ruble between Google Finance and the conversion value on Mintos is about 10%.

Out of 1341 euros in rubles, I got €1201, calculated according to the exchange rate from Google finance. While the loss hurts, there are two factors to consider:

  1. The ruble part was put on a good percentage, about 20% y/y. Despite the problems with the payment, the interest rate was still working. So there is no overall loss.
  2. The situation of linked to the realities on the war front, i.e. it is highly unstable. It is better to suffer a partial loss than to wait for events to unfold and lose the whole thing.

  • Amount late in repayment: 430 238,20 ₽ (change: -55 972,80 ₽)

Robocash*

Robocash is stable, income almost identical to a month ago. I would like to deposit more. Unfortunately, an 11-12% return is currently not such an attractive offer, compared to deposits easily available in Poland with an interest rate of 8-9%.

Robocash announced another reduction in the loan percentages. The change applies to loans from 90 days and up. Below is a summary of the previous (December) and new rates. It is funny to remind that in March 2022, half-year loans were 12%. You can see there is a lot of money back on the market.

Rates from December ’22
Rates from February ’22
  • Value: €7 280,69
  • Profit (last month): €75,59
  • ROI (last month): 12,22%
  • ROI: 12,07%
  • Amount late in repayment: €0
  • Investment from: 2021.08

YieldNodes*

Position in the portfolio during liquidation.

YieldNodes without major changes, investment on hold. A few new features appeared in December:

  1. A platform for submitting your businesses to the “Deconomy” projects has been launched, more: https://assetprovider.decenomy.net/

I’m freezing the position in my portfolio until May 2023, if none of this moves any further – > writes off as a loss.

  • Value: €5 247,25
  • Profit (last month): €0
  • ROI (last month): 0,00%
  • ROI: 49,32%
  • Investment from: 2022.01

ETF*

The January rebounds on the stock market translated into a good result for the ETF portfolio. Currently, the position is very volatile and requires further observation in the portfolio.

  • Value: $2 699,32
  • Change (last month): +$185,38
  • Change (from begining): +$146,58
  • Investment from: 2022.08
