Portfolio update – February 2023

How to achieve financial freedom? Through systematic investing. It’s easy to say, but more difficult to maintain consistency. This journal entry is for my future self, to record the entire – long journey, successes, and mistakes I’ve made, rather than just the final result. I hope it will motivate you to build your financial independence.

In February, Mintos continues the series of withdrawals from the ruble part of the wallet. There is also an ETF correction after last month’s strong performance. This is unfortunately one of the worst months since the beginning of the war (February 2022).

This month, I am also holding off on additional deposits. I am experimenting with savings accounts, where current offers reaching up to 8% return. This, combined with immediate access to the money, gives a significant advantage over portfolio investments.

I invite you to a detailed analysis, starting with a portfolio overview.

Portfolio summary

Bitfinex Lending*

I continue the strategy of catching demand spikes. Offers for this month did not exceed 0.1% again. I plan to maintain the strategy at least until May.

Below is a chart of completed offers from the last month:

  • Value: $10 827,72
  • Profit (last month): $0,00
  • ROI (last month): 0,00%
  • ROI: 8,50%

Mintos (Euro €)*

Compared to January, Mintos recorded an almost 3x profit return. This is due to the return on delayes loans.

This is not reflected in the drop in my statistics because I have changed the way I calculate pending payments. So that it includes not only closed loans, but also loans in pending process.

Additionally, I got large deposit, approximately €1.5k, thanks to the automatic currency conversion from the ruble part of Mintos. At any moment, the account balance will exceed EUR 10,000 and will become the largest item in the portfolio. Combined with good results, it promises to be interesting.

Mintos (Rubel rosyjski ₽)*

Portfolio position during the withdrawal process. The next transfer was paid, all from the part serviced by a Kazakhstani lending company. The positions of Kviku, based in Russia, are still frozen.

Mintos has started publishing an interesting summary showing what percentage of repayments loan companies from Russia have. Unfortunately, the amount and level of Kviku repayments do not look good.

It is worth adding that each recovered ruble is automatically converted into euro in Mintos.

Robocash celebrates its 6th anniversary. They add a some statistics:

  • 30,000+ investors
  • €12 million – profit for investors
  • €70 million – attracted investments
  • €570 million – value of the loans

In the next email, Robocash complains about excess money from investors. It could be expected with the recent reduction in the % offered on the platform.

Skutkiem czego, przelane do systemu pieniądze nie zostaną od razu inwestowane w pożyczkę, jak to miało miejsce do tej pory. Dużo też zależy od wybranych parametrów, tj. długości pożyczki i kraju.

As a result, the deposited money will not be immediately invested in a loan, as was the case so far.

Position in the wallet during liquidation.

YieldNodes without major changes, investment on hold. I’m posting some news that appeared in the last month:

  1. The platform has already acquired over 200 businesses interested in the project
  2. Yieldnodes is launching its own NFT token, more details about it will be released in the next month

I freeze the position in the portfolio until May 2023, if nothing happens -> I write it off as a loss.
